What did I get for free today? Beautiful Derbyshire scenery and fauna

My first decent trip out since Christmas and I'm fat and unfit. A decent walk is great for my mind but my knees don't half complain and this gentle 4 mile walk turned into a lengthy bout of skating on mud which was exhausting.

Still, it was worth it to see a new bit of Derbyshire.
The start of my walk followed the limestone way up and over from Miller's Dale to Monk's Dale, then down into the bottom of the valley before climbing back up to Wormhill

This village has probably barely changed in several hundred years - it was here that James Brindley, the renowned canal engineer, was born in the early 18th century. That's his memorial well below...

From Wormhill a lovely decent down into Chee Dale and the River Wye looking bloated after being force fed rain for the past few months

And then the final highlight - a pair of dippers doing what dippers do. I stood for ages watching them diving and, erm, dipping.
